Dr. Todd K. Asato
Born and raised in Honolulu, Dr. Todd is known for keeping children relaxed while they are sitting on the dentist’s chair. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington before completing his doctorate in dental surgery at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
After completing his pediatric degree from Brookdale University Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y. – where he was appointed chief resident – Dr. Todd returned to the island to take care of the children in the area.
A graduate of Punahou High School, Dr. Todd is also a part-time faculty member for Lutheran Hospital at Kalihi Kakua Valley Clinic, where he is helping in training future pediatric dentists.
Dr. Christopher C. Lee
A native of Honolulu, Dr. Christopher graduated from Punahou High School before graduating from the University of Washington and receiving his doctorate in dental surgery at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
Before returning home to make the children in the Honolulu area comfortable during their first dental experiences, Dr. Chris completed specialty training at the University of Pittsburgh.
Dr. Mary M. Chau
Dr. Mary Chau was born in Hong Kong and immigrated to California at the age of 5. She completed her undergraduate degree in Human Biology at the University of California, San Diego.
She then went on to complete her dental degree at Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine in 2012. It was there she met her husband, and decided to move to Hawaii. After dental school, she completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry through NYU Lutheran at Kokua Kalihi Valley Community Health Center. It was during this time, her passion for Pediatric Dentistry and working with keiki sparked. Dr. Mary was appointed chief resident during her speciality training at the NYU Lutheran Pediatric Residency program in Hawaii.
Dr. Mary currently lives in Honolulu with her husband, Jared, and is adjusting to motherhood with her son, Oliver. Their dog, Mantou, is also adjusting. In her spare time, Dr. Mary enjoys binge watching tv shows, reading popular novels, and eating lots of delicious foods.
Dr. Mary is fluent in both English and Chinese.
Dr. Bethany
Dr. Bethany was born and raised on Oahu, Hawaii. She graduated from Mililani High School before earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Biology from Creighton University. She then attended the UMKC School of Dentistry, where she graduated with honors and received the Arthur E. Iwersen Award of Excellence in Pediatric Dentistry. She completed her specialty training in pediatric dentistry at Children’s Mercy Hospital.
Dr. Bethany is dedicated to providing compassionate dental care to the keiki of Hawaii. As a pediatric dentist, she strives to create a welcoming environment where children feel safe, comfortable, and excited to learn about their oral health. She values building meaningful relationships with her patients and their families and enjoys helping children develop confidence during their dental visits.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Bethany enjoys surfing, exploring new matcha shops, and spending quality time with friends and family.
Dr. Bethany is excited to join the Children’s Dental Associates team and looks forward to caring for patients and families in the community.
